The General Certificate of Education Advanced Level, more commonly known as the GCE A-Level, is a high school leaving and college entrance qualification offered by education bodies in the United Kingdom. More than 8,000 schools from 150 countries around the world have adopted the A-Level program, and over 5,000,000 students sit the A-Level examinations each year. GCE A-Levels qualify a student to apply for admission to universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and other English-speaking countries.
With more than 70 academic subjects from the A-Level program, a student can, based on their strengths and intended major, takes 3 to 4 A-Level examinations to support their college application. The wide variety of academic subjects offered by the A-Level program allows students to both follow their interests and further their studies in their chosen fields.
